I had no particular interest in yoga, I went at a friends suggestion. When I took my first class I was thinking it would also be my last. I have had pain in my leg for over 20 years due to extensive hip surgery at age 12. I'm in my 50's now. I began 2 series of Embodyments about 5 months ago and regular sessions since and my leg pain is virtually gone. I also have had moderate high blood pressure for a few years, along with being 35 pounds overweight. My doctor has cut my medication in half and is considering discontinuing it completely. I have also lost about 20 pounds without dieting. When I go salmon fishing, I am able to wade much more comfortably and now enter and exit the cold river with greater ease. Comments from people in my personal and professional life range from my seeming more relaxed to even looking taller. In fact at my last visit to see my doctor, I was 1/2 inch taller. Krishna has made me feel safe, comfortable. Her teaching style, competence and general demeanor have generated a high level of trust in our relationship. I've had problems with my neck for years after sustaining injury in a car accident. I've tried deep tissue massage, chiropractic, cranial sacral, reiki, network spinal analysis--you name it! Nothing has helped as much as svaroopa yoga! Another benefit of svaroopa yoga is that it improves your ability to handle stressful situations by teaching you to brathe and be present. Over the years my love of yoga has inspired me to seek out and study several styles of yoga.
