Embodyment® Yoga Therapy
This one-to-one hands-on healing technique is designed to access and mobilize the client's own power to heal. Clients rest, fully supported, in yoga’s relaxation pose. By applying gentle touch and a refined state of awareness, the therapist acts as a catalyst, assisting the client in the release of deeply held muscular (and emotional) tension. The release begins at the lower spine and radiates up and throughout the body. One session can release the same amount of tension in the body as six yoga classes. What do we do during it? This is a one-on-one session in which you rest, fully clothed in Shavasana (Yoga’s relaxation pose) while the practitioner places their hands on specific points in your lower spine. There is no pressure or prodding involved, the practitioner simply rests with their hands on the lower spine. Is it like massage or Reiki? No, not at all like massage or Reiki. Embodyment® does not massage you-nor is it “energy work”. It is a very specific technique for opening the body based on the principle of awareness, your awareness. Deeper and longer lasting than massage or Reiki, Embodyment® is not only profoundly relaxing, it creates and sustains gentle and dynamic change at the core level of the body. |
